The site of WCCGS is located at Wan Shing Street, opposite to SPCA Headquarters near Wan Chai Waterfront. There are two different land boundaries, namely the “WCCGS Site Boundary” and the “Competition Design Boundary”. The proposed WCCGS Building must be located within the WCCGS Site Boundary (approx. 700m2), while design considerations and proposals shall also be given to the adjacent site designated for the future Coach Parking Site to be developed by Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD) (approx. 900m2) which is included in the Competition Design Boundary.

Vision
The Promoter would like to invite passionate and visionary designers to develop functional and innovative ideas for a CGS to be located at Wan Shing Street, Wan Chai and opposite to the SPCA Animal Hospital. The vision of the Promoter is to enhance the branding of CGS for promotion of green culture and remove the stereotypical perception that it might become a source of pollution or is merely a functional facility to handle wastes. Hence there must be clear distinctions from traditional misconceptions and conventional thinking.
